i make magic. abracadabra.
My creative journey is filled with colorful stories, and can best be described as a ‘choose your own adventure’ situationship with self-discovery, growth and artistic curiosity. My magic comes from within: I listen, interpret, and speak the dreams of myself and others—all on wavelengths that don’t exist on the traditional spectrum. These skills didn’t pop up over night.
here’s my story:
it all started here. I'm just letting you know i came from THIS era, so you already know what you're workin' with.
2005-present: it feels like 100 years ago, but for nearly two decades I have photographed everyone and everything I see. many of my muses have become music industry giants, and I've had the pleasure of capturing some of LA's dopest parties / events of the early 2000s.
2005-2011: I got my chops as a retail makeup artist, learning the importance of internal and external beauty. It was here that I discovered how to authentically connect with people and make them feel at home in my presence.
2011-2014: I honed my skills in developing deeply connected teams, & learned how to really run a business. These times and these people were the absolute greatest.
2015-2018: I traveled the world and created content as a beauty educator, upskilling retail teams on empathy, artistry, and selling with integrity. to date, I have trained over 50,000 people.
2018: I began to shed my corporate persona and step into my purpose as a creative culturalist (nope, not word - but you get it). I began focusing all of my efforts on storytelling, ensuring that many diverse groups of people people felt welcomed and represented through any projects that were within my reach. This is still my ethos today.
2019: This was the year of DIVERSITY campaigns, and I lent my expertise to developing one of the top performing beauty franchises in the US. I worked on the shade development, color calibration, and product navigation for the UD Stay Naked 50-shade Foundation campaign, starring celebrity musician Lizzo.
2018: My creative influence took shape on a larger scale. I became a key player in developing strategies and stories that touch millions of people through products, visuals, and words. I learned from the best, impacting global initiatives alongside highly dynamic creatives and skilled (yet rebellious) executional teams.
2019: I aided in a big cosmetics strategic rebrand, including overseeing / influencing the ideation and execution of creative makeup artistry for celebrity talent Lizzo, Karol G, CL, and Joey King.
2020: I focused my efforts (while stuck at home) on developing and actualizing a life-long dream of my own: I opened an online shop based on my home design aesthetic. APARTMENT 119 was born.
2021: to be honest, I can't believe this is a part of my journey! My amazing team and I led a beauty collaboration with The Prince Estate, launching the 1st-ever Prince cosmetic products. The campaign featured his muse Damaris Lewis, his personal photographer Randee St. Nicholas, and was led by myself and his Creative Director Trevor Guy.
2019-2021: After two years of development, a pandemic, and a whole lot of re-works, my team and I led Urban Decay's 1st-ever collaboration with Marvel Studios for the film Eternals.
my obsession with the world of brand collaborations has gone full circle, and I've been blessed to grow my expertise in creative interpretation through this specific lens. Working on campaigns such as BASQUIAT, Game of Thrones, Prince, and Marvel have all elevated my understanding of consumer connection, fanaticism, luxury product and packaging, and the business side of working alongside marketing giants.
somewhere along the line: I took ownership of my skills in foresight and identifying emerging trends. mix that with an obsession with color, texture, music, fashion, and the obscure -- and you get ME. 24/7/365.
and now, I'm just...CHILLIN. Basking in creative magic, always working on multiple things at once, and looking forward to lending my skills to projects that speak to me.
